BOSTON PIZZA & WYSA ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is proud to announce a new multi-year partnership with Boston Pizza! As part of the partnership, one of Western Canada’s biggest summer soccer tournaments will have a new name - Boston Pizza Players Tournament which will raise funds for WYSA’s new player subsidy fund. This summer marks the first annual Boston Pizza Players Tournament which it is hoped that we will raise $10,000 for a new player subsidy fund to help those families who may miss out on playing simply because their families can’t afford to pay the fees. In addition to the tournament, Boston Pizza will also support several other WYSA programs.
"Boston Pizza has long been a place for soccer teams, families, and fans to get together and enjoy meals", said Andrew Shefchyk, Director of Marketing for Boston Pizza. "We are very proud to support the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association and this tournament that will enable more children and youth to play and enjoy the beautiful game!"
“Boston Pizza is a great fit for the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association and positive step forward in strengthening our community partnerships,” said Carlo Bruneau, Executive Director of WYSA. “Boston Pizza has a very strong track record of community involvement and we’re extremely pleased to have their brand associated with youth soccer here in Winnipeg.”
The Boston Pizza Players Tournament runs June 3rd – 7th, 2015 at John Blumberg Sportsplex and Grant Park Fields. The tournament has attracted 155 total teams, including teams from Ontario and South Dakota. The finals will be held on Sunday, June 7th at John Blumberg Sportsplex.
The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association manages the largest youth soccer league in Manitoba. In addition to managing all premier and developmental leagues from ages 9 through 18, WYSA oversees recreational soccer leagues for community centres from ages 13 to 18. It also supports district soccer associations who administer the recreational leagues for ages 9 through 12 during the outdoor season. In recent years, WYSA has managed indoor high school soccer and has played a key role in bringing soccer programming to disadvantaged youth in Winnipeg’s core areas through its Mobile Mini Soccer Program.

3rd SEASON OF MOBILE MINI SOCCER PROGRAM KICKS OFF!
The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is proud to announce the kickoff of its 3rd season of the Mobile Mini Soccer Program! The Mobile Mini Soccer Program offers a free one-hour soccer session to children aged four to eight, at various locations in the inner-city throughout the summer. The sessions are structured to introduce children to the beautiful game by a certified coach coordinator and premier players from local youth district soccer clubs. The youth players not only help coordinate the activities, they are often regarded as role-models for the mini soccer players, a role they embrace.
Since 2013, the program has seen approximately 1,600 children participate, providing them the opportunity to get active and learn some new soccer skills. “We have built some momentum over the past two years and I know some of the kids are already talking and looking forward to this year’s program” said Carlo Bruneau, WYSA Executive Director. “By bringing the game to them, we’re hoping to give children an opportunity they might not otherwise have.”
The program is supported by the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association, Manitoba Soccer Association, and Tim Hortons in conjunction with WYSA’s five district soccer clubs. The program runs 6 PM – 7 PM, May 11 to June 11, Monday to Thursday, at Dufferin School, Brooklands School, Lord Selkirk School and Central Park respectively.

THE PLAYERS TOURNAMENT 2015
One of Western Canada’s biggest summer soccer tournaments has a new name and a new cause! Known as the Children’s Hospital Tournament for the last 23 years, the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association is proud to announce the tournament has a new name and a new cause, to help players who can't afford to play the game! The contributions from subsidy programs that exist today are shrinking and while it was an extremely difficult decision, the WYSA Board of Directors felt it made sense for soccer to start supporting soccer! 2015 OUTDOOR SEASON
Team registration for the 2015 Outdoor Season has now closed and we are in the process of compiling the registrations from each District to form our divisions and start the scheduling process! We hope to have the first 3 weeks of the schedule (April 24 - May 15) completed and posted online by April 8. The rest of the seasonal schedule will be available by April 24 so that we have some time to scrutinize and smooth out the schedule for each team and division. Looking for info on U9 - U12 LTPD, view our LTPD menu tab above for more resources!
The U9-U12 Recreational League season is administered by each individual district, so please contact them directly with questions pertaining to schedules and days of play. WYSA and the Districts will host the season ending Jamboree on July 4 & 5, 2015 at Grant Park Fields!
The U13-U18 Recreational League will kick-off on turf at the Waverley Soccer Complex on April 24, 2015.Grass field matches will begin on May 4, 2015 continue until June 26, 2015. All divisions will have 12-14 regular season matches. The Cambrian Challenge Cup (playoffs) will begin on August 31 (no matches September 4-7) with the Finals on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
U13/U15/U17 will typically play Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday*
U14/U16/U18 will typically play Monday, Wednesday and Friday*
Make up matches may be scheduled on off days of play.
The U9-U12 Developmental League will kick-off on May 4, 2015.and run to July 9. No matches will be scheduled between July 10 and August 2. The season will resume August 3 and run to September 13 - September 12/13 WYSA and the Districts will host the season ending Jamboree at Grant Park Fields!

The U13-U18 Premier 1 & 2 League will kick-off on May 4, 2015 and run until September 19/20. Each division will have 14-16 total regular season matches. This year, we are trying a new format to the Cambrian Challenge Cup to put more emphasis on league standings - divisions of 7 or less, only the top 4 teams will make the CCC, and divisions of 8 or more only the top 6 teams make the CCC. This exact format will be explained on each divisions homepage. We are working very hard to have a consistent night of play for each Premier division thereby giving you only 1 match per week, however, it becomes extremely challenging when you mix in pooled teams, out-of-town teams, team travel, and of course referee/field availability. We will post the typical days of play for each division as the picture becomes clearer.
Please note there will be no WYSA League matches on the following dates:
June 3 - 7, 2015 - WYSA Outdoor Tournament (more details TBA soon!)
June 8, 12, 15, & 16 - FIFA Women's World Cup Match Dates
MSA Cup Match Days (age specific)
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays of long weekends, but matches may be scheduled on the Monday night.
*Please note these are the typical days of play in which you can reasonably expect the majority of your matches to be scheduled. We make every effort to stick to them, but as there are a number of different factors which determine the outcomes of schedules, it’s not always possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
There are no lines on the field we are due to play on, how can the game go ahead?
For Recreational divisions, yes the match should still be played! Teams can use cones as the boundaries.
For Premier divisions, officials that have been assigned to premier matches will not be officiating matches on fields with no lines.
The lining of the fields is also the responsibility of the home team. Both the home team’s District and WYSA should be informed if a field is not properly lined or does not have proper goals.
